Offering a serene retreat within Ridgeview Manor, Sakura Sushi combines traditional Japanese aesthetics with stunning views of the Canadian Rockies. The minimalist space, designed by renowned Japanese architect Hiroshi Nakamura, creates a peaceful atmosphere for enjoying meticulously crafted Japanese cuisine. Natural materials including hinoki wood, river stones, and washi paper screens define the space, while creating distinct dining areas from the intimate sushi counter to semi-private tatami rooms.

Master Sushi Chef Kenji Yamamoto brings over 30 years of experience from Tsukiji Market in Tokyo and Vancouver's finest Japanese restaurants. His commitment to authenticity and premium ingredients ensures an exceptional dining experience, with fish flown in daily from Japanese and Pacific Northwest markets. Chef Yamamoto's team includes specialised cooks for tempura, robata grilling, and ramen, each bringing mastery of their particular craft to create a comprehensive Japanese dining experience.

The menu features both traditional nigiri and sashimi offerings as well as innovative rolls incorporating local ingredients like spruce tips, Saskatoon berries, and Rocky Mountain honey. Beyond sushi, guests can enjoy pristine tempura featuring seasonal vegetables and seafood, handmade ramen featuring house-made noodles and 48-hour broths, and seasonal kaiseki tasting menus that showcase the progression of flavours and textures in Japanese haute cuisine.

Our sake sommelier has curated an impressive selection of premium Japanese sake and whisky, with guided tastings available by appointment. Sakura Sushi offers both à la carte dining and omakase experiences at our intimate 8-seat sushi counter, where Chef Yamamoto personally prepares and serves each course.
